The Naughty Lady of Shady Lane

Well lets talk about the Naughty Lady of Shady Lane.
This was a song that was recorded back in late Nov. 1954 by the Ames Brothers. It was No.3 on the charts and stayed their for almost 4 months, selling over 1 and a quarter millions singles.

Well why am I referred to as the Naughty Lady of Shady Lane?. ( It's not what you maybe thinking). So I'll tell you the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.
I was born a week later on Dec. 8th. My Dad reminds me of this song every year on my B-Day. So anciently this has become my signiture song. Sometime you might have to check on I tunes to understand why. (Your on your own with that one.) But it is a cute little song. And as I grow older I appreciate more.

This picture was taken 2 years ago at my Dad's 75th B-Day party. We did a program for him and I purposely put myself in the beginning to get it done and over with. (First public appearance, playing guitar, singing and all). But I sang for my Dad the Naughty Lady of Shady Lane (And the rest, as they say is history).

Happy Halloween 2008

Halloween has always been a big hit around the Wyatt house. Their was never a store bought custom. Everything was pulled out of a grab bag full of stuff. From Indian , to wolf man, Dacula and ghosts ect. Now that I have Grandkids the fun starts all over again.

We have been doing a Halloween party every year for the past 8 years. And absolutely have had a blast. Our first year has for me been the most memorable one. We had about 4 of our quests stay till 3:30 in the morning and bum slide across my wood floor. We had a riot. And needless to say I was a hit of that activity because this group was in their early 20's and was 40 something. We had Elisha Irving, Silvia Welch ( Brian's friends) and Bryan Jensen and Jeff Pack (Neil's friends). Neil and Brian had gone to bed. So the good mother and friend that I am, I stayed up with this lively group. But honestly, I think I was more lively than them.

Beside the bum sliding, we all got a little crazy and started to fly over my couch.. I was the one that actually instagated that one. They all couldn't believe their eyes when they saw me doing a hand stand over the top of my couch. And either could my niece Kimberly who was asleep on the couch.
Halloween is such a great day. I am so into the scary and macawb stuff that it's almost discussting. This year our theme was Haunted Hollywood. Any thing scary Hollywood. We don't get alot that stick to the theme but it's fun to see who shows up as what. This year I was Lydia from the movie Beetlejuice. Neil was pretty cool as Hannibul Lector.

We had a house full. It's so good to see all our friends and be with them, at least for one crazy , scary evening out of the year.

Oh one more thing. One thing thet we do to start the month of October out is that we attend a Haunted House. No I have not grown out of that..

My Bernese Mountain dogs came into my life starting about 10 years ago when I went to Colorado to purchase my first Bernese from the a Humane Society in Fort Collins Co. I named him Fritz because I wanted to have a traditional Swiss/German name. He was the most lovable, wonderful dog that I have ever owned. He was very attentive and wanted to be with me all the time. Which is very typical for Berners. I lost Fritz 2 years ago to Cancer that was in his spleen. If you are a dog lover you will understand when you lose something so special it's a hard thing to get over. My family understood this and went searching for another one. Well along came Friedrich from Denver Co. So a road trip was on the agenda. My daughter in law Andrea and I drove and picked up this runt of a Berner puppy. I really should not have taken him but we bonded instantly. He's a wonderful boy and typical Berner fashion loves to be with me but is very shy around others which is not typical. At one point I was thinking about doing some breeding. So with that said the search was on for a female. Which brought us to finding my Miss Greta, puppy from South Dakota. Andrea and I were once again on the road. The breeders that we picked her up from were wonderful people and very loving to their dogs and buffalo.
Greta is a very hyper dog but she is growing on me. She is a year old now and tons of fun.

We next came across another male Berner from Pennsylvania. We had him shipped out to us because I didn't want to drive all that way. We call him Lil Fritz after my Fritz No. 1. He is a very sweet boy but loves to chew up paper. All puppies liked to chew on something.

So life with 3 dogs is some days pretty crazy. But I am very glad they are with me.
